About 8000 MCA and MBA seats are expected to go vacant in colleges across Gujarat. As the students did not turn up for taking admissions in these courses, there is hardly a probability of another admission round to take place.
There were 1055 seats left vacant at the end of the second round of admissions on August 8, 2012 when registration was to be done. After the first round, 7000 seats were left vacant.
Sources from GTU (Gujarat Technological University) have informed college officials not to demand original documents from candidates taking admission in MCA and MBA courses. Strict action will be taken against the colleges not abiding by this rule. The move will help those students who had attended the reshuffling process and could not present the required documents. Only if the government issues a resolution, colleges will be able to fill these vacant seats.
