Following the completion of the college building and residential quarters, the Bihar state government has written to the Union Health ministry asking for permission to begin the academic session at the new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campus in Patna, from this August.

The state government has also requested the centre to issue a notification to admit 100 MBBS students for the session, officials said.

As per officials from the state government, undergraduate medical students of AIIMS will perform their practical at the Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Patna.
