About Carmel Convent School:
Carmel Convent School was established by the Sisters of the Congregation of Mother of Carmel (C.M.C.) in 1968. C.M.C. is an indigenous religious congregation of sisters who dedicate their lives for the uplift and the wholesome formation of our fellowmen especially women and children. The total formation of the human person has always been the top priority in the educational endeavors of C.M.C.
The School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi since April 1994 and managed by the Carmel Convent Education Society to cater to the educational needs of the children of the BHEL Township and the surrounding localities.
The school aims at the integral development of the personality of the students to fulfill a noble role in life. Hence the intellectual, cultural, physical, psychological and moral advancement receives the utmost care from the initial stages of the academic career.

The minimum age for entry is 3 years, for Lower Kindergarten. Age for admission to other classes will progressively correspond to the age for admission to Lower Kindergarten.
Admission to all classes is made on the basis of entrance tests. The birth certificate issued by corporation /municipality should be produced at the time of admission. In case of higher classes, the school leaving certificate or equivalent certificate must be produced with the previous exam's mark sheet at the time of admission.
Application for admission should be filled in with correct particulars and submitted to the office on or before the prescribed date. In case an application is rejected for admission in a particular year, fresh application has to be made in the subsequent year.
The Correspondent of the school reserves the right to admit any child at any time. He also has the right to expel a child on the recommendation of the head of the institution.
Extra-Curricular activities are organized by the Student Council under the guidance of a full time Moderator. The students are offered membership of Activity Club formed by students and mentors by teachers, activity managers and other professionals. Presently there are clubs for sports activities such as Basketball Club, Football Club, Table-tennis Club, Cricket Club and Chess Club, and for other extra-curricular such as Quiz Club, Drama Club, Fine Arts Clubs, Public Speaking Club, Creative Writer’s Club and Wall Climbing Club.
The student council is a non-political, officially elected or nominated body of students which functions under the guidance of the Moderator and Principal for the welfare and discipline of the students. Its main functions are:
To represent students in the school management.
To assist management in organizing different extra-curricular activities such as student-get-togethers and various formal parties.
To publish the school newsletter and magazines.
Student Council Activities:
Festivals, Student Get Together, Farewell Party, Quiz Contest, Elocution, Debates, Talk Programs, Newsletter, Magazine, Sports and other Extra Curricular activities.
