ComedK 2012 results: Karnataka students emerge as exam toppers

The ComedK exam toppers list was published on Thursday, June 7, 2012. The rank list will however be published on Friday, June 8, 2012.  This year witnessed 55,000 non-Kannadigas appearing for the exam which was held on May 6.

Students from Karnataka not only steal the laurels at the CET 2012 exam, but proved to be the top cream in Comedk as well. 19 0f the 20 toppers; 10 each from Medical and Engineering emerged from the state. The other interesting factor in this year exam Results is the pass percentage which is 100%.

This means that all students who appeared for the engineering stream are eligible for a seat.

Karnataka has not only ruled the top 10 ranks, but also bagged as many as 38 ranks medical and 42 engineering ranks in the top 50 ranks. Only 34 medical and 17 engineering ranks came from outside the state in the top 100 ranks.

Karnataka in all has 36% in the medical and 37% in engineering. A marginal increase of around 1000 students in both the streams was recorded this year.

In the medical stream, Archana Sasi, who bagged the first rank CET in medical also, bagged the first place in Comedk medical. Keerthana Haridas from National Public School secured the second rank and Surakshith from Expert PU College, Mangalore secured the third rank in Medical.

As for the Engineering Results, Deepa M from the MES Kishore Kendra PU College bagged the first place. Deepa also secured the first rank in engineering in the CET exams this year.

Vivek B S, a student of Deeksha Integrated Centre for Learning secured the second rank, while Haren Saga, of Sri Chaitanya College, Vijayawada bagged the third rank.

Haren Saga from Andhra Pradesh is the only new face in the result toppers list.

Rank list to be out on June 8, 2012

Students must take note of the rank list that will be available on the Comedk website (www.comedk.org) Today, June 8, 2012 from 11am onwards. The website will also host the seat-selection process documents and cut-off ranks with respect to the medical, dental and engineering streams.

Successful candidates will receive their rank cards by June 28, 2012.

Comedk has also promised a more student-friendly seat-selection process for this year. The counseling is likely to commence in the second week of July.
