The Dibrugarh University has decided to install CCTV cameras in the examination halls where the Combined Entrance Exam (CEE) will be conducted for admission to medical and engineering courses.

This is the first time such a measure is being introduced to increase security and prevent cheating or malpractices during the examination.

The university authorities have also decided to bar students from carrying or using any gadgets in the exam hall. Sources said that this was being done to prevent malpractices that have occurred before and to increase the credibility of the examination.

It is expected that the combined entrance examination will be replaced by the National Eligibility entrance test (NEET), next year. Sources revealed that there were possibilities that the NEET will be conducted by the CBSE next year in place of the CEE.
