The GITAM University has announced the exam dates for GITAM Aptitude Test (GAT) 2012 which will be held in the month of April and May 2012. GAT will be conducted online from Sunday, April 15 to Friday May 4, 2012.

The GAT is conducted by GITAM University for admission to 4 year B.Tech and 5 year Dual Degree program. GAT is conducted on-line.

GAT 2012 Eligibility Criteria:

A Pass in 10+2 / 12th examination from a recognized Central / State Board or its equivalent either in 2012 or 2011 with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry or Biology, Physics & Chemistry and 1st Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination in single attempt.

Application Procedure:

• Candidates can avail the application form from the branches of Union Bank of India and Indian Bank or one can also apply online.  
• Applications can be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address accompanied by DD for Rs. 1,100/- (Rs. 700/- for female candidates) drawn in favor of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. Request by post will be accepted till 5th March, 2012.
• The filled - in application along with Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 600/- for female candidates), drawn in favor of GITAM University, payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank, should reach Director-Admissions, GITAM University, Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam - 530 045, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA on or before 14th March, 2012.

GAT 2012 Paper Pattern:

The duration of the test is 2 hours. The test consists of three sections:

All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions), each question has four options out of which one is the correct answer. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer. The unanswered questions will receive no marks.
