Gear up for 8 upcoming competitive entrance exams

After Class XII board exams getting over, now its time for the students to buckle up for the upcoming 8 common entrance exams scheduled over the next 2 months for admission in professional medical and engineering courses.  

IIT JEE was held yesterday, April 8, 2012. Next is WBJEE to be held on April 15, 2012 followed by the final paper of the 2nd stage of AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam) conducted by CBSE to be held on April 29, this year. The preliminary exam was conducted on April 1, 2012.

The KCET (Karnataka CET) is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2012 followed by AMUPMDC’ (Association of Management's of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges') ASSO CET 2012' in Maharashtra on May 5, 2012.

The AFMC entrance test for admission to MBBS course will be conducted on May 6, 2012 followed by the MHT-CET 2012, which is the state level entrance exam for admission to engineering, health sciences and pharmacy courses. Over 3 lakh applicants take this test.

April 15: WBJEE

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations for taking admission into undergraduate courses in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Medical/Dental and Pharmacy in universities/colleges in West Bengal.

April 29: AIEEE offline exam

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is an examination organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. This national level competitive test is conducted for admission to various under-graduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the AIEEE score, including 5 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs).

May 3: Karnataka CET

Karnataka's Common Entrance Test - CETK is a state level entrance exam for admissions to first year Medical / Dental / Engineering / Architecture courses in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka.

Candidates must appear for objective type tests in Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects in case of Medical courses.

For admission into Engineering courses through CET, candidates must appear for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects.For admission to Architecture course the candidate must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

CET Syllabus is completely based on the I and II PUC syllabi, which has been prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of the state of Karnataka.

May 5: ASSO CET 2012 for private unaided health science colleges

The exam AMUPMDC Entrance Exam is for category Medicine and Healthcare and is conducted at Medicine and Healthcare level

Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges (AMUPMDC) conducts an entrance exam for admission of students to various medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, Physiotherapy, B. Sc (Nursing), BOTh.

CET is a written entrance exam is conducted by the Association of Management of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges, Maharashtra.

All the participating health Science Colleges are affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. All the Medical Colleges are approved by Medical Council of India, Dental Colleges by Dental Council of India and the Health Science Colleges by their respective Central Councils.

May 6: AFMC entrance for MBBS course

Armed Force Medical College (AFMC) MBBS Entrance Exam is a national level entrance exam conducted by Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. To get entry in AFMC, Pune one must have compulsorily appear for AFMC MBBS Entrance Test. Every year AFMC is being conducted in the month of May at various centers. AFMC 2012 comprises of 2 stages viz, written examination and interview. AFMC 2012 written examination will be conducted at 55 centers across India.

May 10: MHT-CET 2012, state government's combined entrance test

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) is a premier engineering entrance exam which is conducted by Government of Maharashtra every year. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) is held for those candidates who want to take admission into Technology, Health sciences, Pharmacy and Engineering programs offered at undergraduate level in government/government aided and private colleges across the state of Maharashtra.

May 13: AIPMT 2012 final paper

All Indian Pre-Medical/ Pre-Dental (AIPMT) is a medical entrance exam which is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education. AIPMT 2012 is a medical entrance exam for those candidates who aspire to join the medical field. This entrance exam is compulsory if a student wishes to obtain a degree such as MBBS and BDS.

This entrance examination is being conducted exclusively for the 15% merit positions for the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directive of the court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time.

May 10 to June 9: Online test window period for BITSAT 2012

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is a computer based online test. The BITSAT entrance exam is conducted to take admissions into Integrated First Degree courses of BITS Pilani, BITS Hyderabad and BITS Goa campus of the deemed university.
