No vocational education for Indians in Australia

The Australian government has decided to scrap private vocational education for Indians. Sources from the government revealed that the emphasis in vocational education will be on delivering that in India and not Australia. The Australian government that has introduced various reforms since 2009 has decided to separate education and employment pathways.

This move aims at rebuilding university education system to provide quality students. In addition the sources also revealed that the move would prevent students from misusing the student visa for employment in Australia.

The government is in talks with Indian institutions for tie-ups to provide vocation courses. The plan is to provide the course through twinning programmes and dual degrees.

The emphasis will be on pursuing students to do postgraduate courses in Australian universities.

In the month of October the Australian government will be organizing Aus-Fest to ensure that both Australia and India do not share an outdated understanding.
