Patiala-based, Punjabi University will be conducting centralized online entrance exam for Law courses.

Punjab government gave a notification 3 years back which states that all students seeking admission to law courses must appear for an entrance test against the previous practice when colleges were admitting students based on their seats. The decision was taken as the state government received many complaints against some colleges that were charging huge donations from candidates in the form of fees and sold seats to well-off students while financially weaker students could not secure admission.

The admission test will be conducted in 5-year B.A.LLB (Hons)/B.A.LLB/3-year LLB and 3-year LLB (Hons) courses in different institutes/colleges located across Punjab and affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Punjabi University, Patiala for the academic year 2012-13.

Punjabi University will begin online counseling from July 30, 2012. Students applying online will only be eligible for admissions. The students can access detailed information about counseling and admissions from the university’s official website www.punjablawadmissions2012.org. Students can also apply online for counseling between July 9, 2012 and July 13, 2012 on the website.
