University of Calcutta M.Phil in Economics 2012 Entrance Exam Dates

University of Calcutta, Kolkata has announced the exam dates for the M.Phil in Economics Entrance Exam 2012 which will be conducted in the month of July, 2012. The M.Phil in Economics Entrance Exam 2012 will be held on Monday, July 09, 2012.

The M.Phil in Economics Entrance Exam 2012 is conducted for taking admission to the two years Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Economics program for the commencing session 2012-13.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Phil in Economics Entrance Exam 2012:

The candidate should have passed the M.A./M.Sc. Examination in Economics of University of Calcutta with 55% marks in aggregate (SC/ST with 50% marks) or with 60% marks in aggregate of any other recognized University.
Students who are likely to complete their M.A/M.Sc program by June 30, 2012 are also eligible to apply.

Application Procedure for M.Phil in Economics Entrance Exam 2012:

The application form can be obtained from the university sales counter at the cost of Rs. 465/-.
The completed application form should be submitted at ‘the office of the Senior Secretary, University College of Arts and Commerce (UCAC) College Street Campus, Asutosh Building, Ground Floor, Room No. 3G’.

Paper Pattern for M.Phil in Economics Entrance Exam 2012:

The paper will have 60 multiple choice questions for duration of two hours.
Each question carries two marks making it a total of 120 marks.
Every wrong answer marked will result in the deduction of one mark.
The questions will be on Microeconomic Theory (30 marks), Macroeconomic Theory (30 marks), Statistics & Econometrics (30 marks) and Mathematical Economics (30 marks).

Declaration of Results: Monday, July 16, 2012.
