NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)  is an entrance exam conducted by SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute Of Management Studies (School Of Business Management)  for admission to a range of MBA programs offered by the institute. NMIMS Offers a wide range of MBA programs, both general management and specialised areas, to suit industry requirements and make a student future ready.

SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), India’s leading School of Business Management and consistently ranked among the top 10 B-schools in the country, has opened registrations for its online entrance test NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) 2013 for the admissions to Full Time MBA & PGDM for next academic year 2013. NMAT is one of the largest online tests in India, which has been conducted successfully in CBT mode for three years by now, and last year more than 56000 students registered in NMAT 2012. Students of foreign countries and Persons of Indian Origin (POI) cannot register in NMAT however their GMAT score shall be considered for admission. NMAT 2013 will be held from Thursday, 11th October, 2012 to Wednesday, 19th December, 2012.

Eligibility criteria for NMAT 2013:

The institute has set separate eligibility criteria’s for its various MBA programs.

1. MBA, MBA Banking and MBA Capital Market -

• Full Time Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from a UGC recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate in first attempt.
• The candidate must have completed graduation in the stipulated duration as per the respective University/Institution awarding the degree.
• Those candidates who have cleared their graduation by doing a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

2. MBA HR - (Selection process is separate) -

• Full Time Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from a UGC recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate in first attempt.
• The candidate must have completed graduation in the stipulated duration as per the respective University/Institution awarding the degree.
• Those candidates who have cleared their graduation by doing a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

3. MBA Pharmaceutical Management - (Selection process is separate)

• Full Time Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3/4) in Pharmacy, Science, Life Sciences, Medical doctors MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, B.Sc and M.Sc in Biotechnology from a UGC recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate in first attempt. Post Graduate degree in Economics, Psychology and Sociology can also apply.
• The candidate must have completed graduation in the stipulated duration as per the respective University/Institution awarding the degree.
• Those candidates who have cleared their graduation by doing a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
• Candidates with B.Tech & B.E in Bio Tech & Bio – Medical are also eligible to apply.
• Candidates presently working in Pharmaceutical Companies for more than a year are preferred.

4. PGDM – Bengaluru campus and PGDM – Hyderabad campus -

• Full Time Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from a UGC recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate in first attempt.
• The candidate must have completed graduation in the stipulated duration as per the respective University/Institution awarding the degree.
• Those candidates who have cleared their graduation by doing a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

Paper pattern for NMAT 2013:

NMAT 2013 would be an objective type multiple-choice test. (There will be no descriptive type questions).

The NMAT will comprise the following:

The candidate should note that it is important for them to perform well relative to other candidates in each of the 3 sections of the test as the score of each section and the overall score will be used to shortlist the candidate for the second stage of the selection process as well as in the final ranking.  Please note that there will be no negative marking. This year written test will also include questions on ethical decision making where students will be exposed to classic corporate problems and they will be required to suggest a hypothetical ethical decision.

The written test was earlier followed by group discussion and personal interview for selected students. However this year the institute has done away with the group discussion process and replaced it with case studies. Students will be asked to start managerial discussion on a particular case given to them.

Please note that if the candidate is not satisfied by his/her NMAT score in the first attempt he/she may schedule for Re-take NMAT by visiting www.pearsonvue.com/nmims and logging in with the allotted username and password. In case of candidates taking more than one attempt the best score which is the total score & its respective sectional score, which make the candidate eligible as per the cut offs declared by NMIMS, will be considered for short listing for subsequent process. (Cut off means sectional as well as total score). The scores of all the attempts taken by the candidate will be declared on the NMIMS website.

How to apply for NMAT 2013:

Pearson VUE will carry out the online registration & will conduct NMAT on behalf of NMIMS. Interested candidates have to visit the NMIMS website for online registration. For appearing for NMAT online application has to be duly submitted & payment of registration charges need to be made in any of the prescribed mode within stipulated time.

• Candidates can apply for more than one Programme / Campus as per his /her eligibility by giving preferences.
• The preferences once given cannot be changed later on.

Note:There will be three radio buttons for registration i.e MBA (Full Time), PGDM & Both (FT MBA & PGBM). A candidate who wishes to apply for more than one Campus has to select the third option of both and has to pay registration charges as per the above table.

The mode of payment will be as under:

1. Credit card or
2. Cash at bank or Demand Draft
3. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to check whether he/she is eligible for the respective Program as per the eligibility criteria stated above.
4. Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of the combination of their rank in NMAT and preferences.
5. Group Discussion & Personal Interview for shortlisted candidates will be conducted in Mumbai only.
6. No separate call letter will be mailed.
7. The result for NMAT 2013 will be declared on the website as per the important dates available on the website. Shortlisted candidate is required to download  the call letter from our website www.nmims.edu

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the application data in terms of academic marks obtained, work experience, marks obtained in NMAT and GD/PI.

The selection criteria will be based on merit only.  The cut-off for deciding the merit shall lie solely with NMIMS.  Those candidates who have applied for more than one Programme/Campus, in their application forms, their selection will be based on the merit score obtained by them as well as on the availability of the seats in the respective Programme. In this regard, the decision of the NMIMS will be final and undisputable and shall be binding on all concerned.
