The number for Indian students in Canada is rising every year. According to the reports of Jennifer Daubeny, Consul General for South India, Consulate General of Canada, as of now approximately 50,000 Indian students are studying in different universities of Canada.
Jennifer Daubney mentioned that from this year, the number of Indian students visiting Canada for higher studies is likely to increase radically.
According to her, mostly graduates prefer Canada for Post Graduation and Certificate courses, the reason being the high quality education and low course fee.
Due to the demand, many Canadian educational institutions have started their offices in India. There are about six offices of various varsities of Canada in Bengaluru and they are keenly involved with the Indian students.
And nowadays, students are also visiting Canada for Undergraduate courses. Even students from Canada are moving to India for higher studies. Many Canadian students are enrolled in Manipal University and it has also signed several MoUs with universities of Canada.
Many IT professionals are moving to Canada with their families in order to get the Visa. The number of Indian immigrants is the second largest in Canada after China.
Jennifer Daubeny said that Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada is expected to visit India this year and his visit will build up the joint ties between both the countries.
In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visited Canada and has invited the Canadian Prime Minister to visit India.
