Australia’s much sought after vocational courses in retail, hospitality and tourism will now be available in India as a premier Australian institute is all set to start branches in the country.
Heraud Inc of Melbourne will enter into an agreement with TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute on July 10, 2012 for establishing the TAFE institutes in India that would provide vocational diploma courses in retail, tourism, hospitality, construction and automotive engineering.
Initially the proposal is to develop 5 schools in India with first one coming up in Gurgaon which may start functioning by April 2013.
The move will back Indian government’s mission to provide skills to 500 million people by 2022 and to create employability across the nation.
CEO of Heraud revealed that the company has worked closely with analysts of National Skill Development Corporation in India to study the differences between what the industry requires and what the educational institutes are producing.
Many industry experts and government have identified that despite of producing large number of engineering graduates, India lacks skills and quality.
The initiative involves a bilateral approach – one aims at individuals and the second directs companies to provide training to its staff members.
In 2011, the 2 countries had agreed to develop education exchange programs to attain better cooperation between their vocational education, schools, training sectors and higher education. The two countries had also decided to explore more opportunities to share skills in education and set up India-Australia Education Council.
The educational pattern of Heraud Inc will follow Australian traditions and will aim at preparing students for a globalised world.
All vocational courses will follow the TAFE NSW Sydney Institute curriculum and will be prepared by TAFE NSW Sydney Institute faculties in India in association with the local industry.
After completing graduation from the institute, students will also get an option to apply for their internship in Australia.
TAFE NSW institutes forms a part of the New South Wales Government Department of Education and Communities and are considered as the best practice leaders in terms of high quality education and applied practical training across the globe and are a preferred choice for Indian students who aspire to Study in Australia.
