The most reputed university (ranked 9th best-worldwide) and one of the oldest law schools of the world, Harvard law school is collaborating with the Qatar Foundation to launch a law school for graduates at Hamad Bin Khalifa University located in Doha.
Institute for Global Law and Policy (IGLP) and the Qatar foundation for Education, Science and Community development have come together to set up an institution that would offer law courses of the “Harvard” quality. The law school will provide research programs, a faculty development program and doctoral programs, whose curricula will be looked after by IGLP, which will also be looking after the admissions and other technical terms.
IGLP hopes to create the same level of quality education and hold workshops in the Qatar campus as it does in Harvard every year. The dates for the same are scheduled at 4th to 14th the coming year.
The president of Qatar Foundation expressed his exuberance on the esteemed collaboration and believes that a graduate law school can help rejuvenate legal studies in the country and develop a learning centre for Islamic laws and tradition. The IGLP director also articulated that it was a complete honor to be able to guide the curricula and undertakings of the new law school in Qatar as they have sincere and high ambitions for the institution and the country.
