Valid Indian students are welcome, says Universities UK

Published On: 27 Jul 2012 | Last Updated On: 27 Jul 2012

British universities officials expressed that legitimate Indian and other global students are most welcome to Study in UK, insisting that the recent modifications in the student visa rules did not meant to stop other country students from studying in UK.

Representative of all higher education institutes, Universities UK conducted a special briefing to dispel the view of various countries that UK had restricted students. Recent modification to the student visa regulation to prevent violence including the end of post-study work visa in April have resulted in lesser number of students from India to apply for the academic year beginning September – October in few UK universities.

A senior official from Universities UK stated that some post-study work options are still available under Tier 2 of the points-based system.
