Cambridge University launches Centre for India and Global Business
Judge Business School (JBS) at the
University of Cambridge recently launched its Centre for India and
Global Business (CIGB), devoted to the study of India's leading role
in the global economy. Arnoud De Meyer, the Director of JBS,
believes that this is a great opportunity for a mutually beneficial
relationship. He also thinks that people in the West constantly
underestimate what they can learn from India. The centre has been
established to carry out research in the areas of business
especially around the themes of technology innovation, emerging
global economies, the relationship between economic development and
knowledge economy and entrepreneurship.
The centre aims to generate
cutting-edge thought leadership by bringing together business,
academic and policy leaders from around the world to understand,
promote and engage with Indian innovators. The centre's vision
is to become a World Knowledge Platform for creating and
disseminating cutting-edge practices and insights related to
India and innovation. In effect, the centre will look across
industries for 'innovative technological research' being done
and spread this knowledge worldwide by imparting this
information.
