Visa applications from North India for UK to be scrutinized
With a dotting increase in student visa applications from north India and fearing some malfunctions, the United Kingdom has announced that no fresh student visa applications would be accepted at any of its three centers in the region from 1 February 2010.
This temporary suspension was announced by the British Deputy High Commissioner and the Regional Director of the UK. Border Agency. In 2008-09, India witnessed 4,70,645 applicants under various categories accounted for 19 per cent of the global demand for entry into the UK. In the students’ category, India and China accounts for the largest body of foreign entrants into the UK universities.
