Welsh Universities record fast growth in the educational sector

Wales universities is making a significant contribution to the Welsh economy as per a new research. A survey by the 11th annual Higher Education – Business and Community Interaction (HE-BCI), revealed Welsh universities are developing their facilities and expertise despite financial challenges. It found that Welsh universities’ performance has out-reached UK in several areas by 5% in the years 2010-2011.

Wales performed over UK in terms of their university activities such as collaborative research, number of software licenses granted, income regeneration and development programs. However, Wales’s universities performance in commercializing intellectual property owned by universities is lesser that its UK counter-parts by 5%. Although there are areas in which Whelsh universities will have to improve, some of these areas seem to be developing fast.

Sources from the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales stated that, the survey shows Welsh universities helping the economy and have the ability to support small and medium sized business by offering the skills development.  As per sources from Higher Education Wales, it is pleasing to see Welsh higher education sector outperforming its expected target in crucial areas. These positive indicators will encourage maintaining and building further on these achievements and ensure that the Welsh educational sector excels in all areas in the coming years.
