The Australian education department is committed to provide quality education to its international students.With this being the aim,  a set of educational laws are grouped under the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 by the Australian Government.

The Australian Qualifications Framework:

Under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), the value of the Australian degree or any other Australian qualification will not change anywhere in the world. This is because all the Australian education qualifications are included under the AQF.  If you’re studying an AQF qualification, you can be sure that your institution is Government-authorized and nationally accredited, and that your degree or other AQF qualification will be genuine.

AQF allows for choice and flexibility in career planning. as all the work based qualifications and academic qualifications are part of a single system, allowing maximum flexibility in career planning and continuous learning. The AQF makes it easy for overseas governments to recognize your qualification.

Education Services for Overseas students:

The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 was introduced by the Australian government in 2010.As per the ESOS Act, intitutions should meet the  registration criteria laid by the act inorder to enroll international students.  The Commonwealth Register of Institutiuons and courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) lists out all the registerded instituitions in Australia.

The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency

The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) was established by the Australian Government in 2010.This body will oversee the developments of the educational institutes to protect the quality of Australian education. The regulatory functions of ESOS will transfer to TEQSA by 2013.

Quality assurance methods adopted by the Australian government is one of the key factors attracting large number of Indian students.
