Courses in the Aviation Industry
For most of us, the fascination to
fly never wears off. Earlier, air travel was a privilege only a few
could afford, but today air travel has become much cheaper and can
be afforded by a large number of people.
The Indian aviation industry is one of the fastest growing aviation industries in the world. From being primarily a government-owned industry, the Indian aviation industry is now dominated by privately owned full-service airlines and low-cost carriers. The rapidly growing aviation industry in India has witnessed a remarkable transformation with the entry of private airlines and low cost carriers. India has 454 airports and airstrips; of these, 16 are designated international airports. Most students are attracted to this career mainly because of the high-flying life it offers. As a benevolent, non-profit organization, Career in Aviation, assists students to explore the wide variety of opportunities in the aviation industry and is advancing the future of aviation careers through scholarship opportunities. Personality: Air hostesses and flight stewards need to have a hospitable and pleasant personality.Pilots, cabin crew and air traffic controllers also need to have a high level of concentration and focus as there is a lot of minute observation and immediate response required in such technical posts and these are also positions of great responsibility as the lives of the passengers depends on the proper functioning of the air plane . As for the technical staff and for almost all jobs in the aviation sector, one must be able to work at different times of the day. One may have to work night shifts and sometimes may have to spend more than 24 hours without sleeping.

These companies look out for candidates who have been trained through professional aviation courses. Career scope: Although the aviation sector in India climbed to the ninth position in the world aviation market in 2007, 2008 witnessed the aviation sector battling multiple demons - rising jet fuel prices, and later, the slump in business, as travellers chose cheaper modes of travel under threat of recession. Kunal Vasudeva, Head, Kingfisher Training Academy, states, "From an output perspective, are most airlines recruiting? The answer is no. Will they recruit in the near future? Hopefully, yes. While earlier, airlines may have recruited 15 students, today just three or four make the cut. However, what's important is that the current batch of students will graduate next June or July, and hopefully, the economy will tide over by then." However, things aren't quite as easy for students, who've already graduated. Ratan K has completed his pilot training course, but has been unable to land a job as a pilot. He says, "There are no openings right now. There are about 6000 people looking for jobs, with may be about 120 to 130 openings available only." Add Comment CommentsYou may also like to read

captainjohann : A good effort. But i am suprised you have left out the only flying institution in India run by government which is IRGUA (Indira gandhi rashttriya udan academy).the basic qualification to be a pilot is 10+2 with mathemetics and Physica.
1.SPL(student pilots license0
2.PPL (priavte -- --)
3.CPL (commercial -- --)
4.ALTP ( airline transport -----)
One also must pass the FRTO ( flight radio operators license ) issued by Ministry of communication which allows one to operate equipment in aircraft (COP)
At present there is glut of CPL hlders and so no job.
If one has Multi engine type rating with endorsement of Airbus or Boeing aircraft's then one can get a job.
Most of the good training institutes are located in south and pondicherry. Most of the students go to Philippines, Australia, USA for CPL.Again the quality of training depends on the flying schools.
Aviation is a good because you move in AC atmosphere, see pretty faces(both males and ladies) and also see rich and powerful at close range and how human and petty they are.
ragini_sgh : Very informative.
Krish5 : With world wide recession .....This industry is still volatile, especially after the episode of sacking of Air hostess by both the leaders Jet and Kingfisherâ¦â¦ taken back after political pressure⦠then the reduction in pay package even for flying staffâ¦â¦.. ........
Infact half out of the 12 aviation companies listed by you.... are either merged or closed....
Some of the older flying clubs... ( teaching institutes) are also in Chennai... Madras flying Club.... (I am a PPL Holder from there)& Bangalore Flying Club Jakur.... One of the leading actress of Telugu Movies died in an aircrash soon after the taking off from this runway....
