MAAC Team bags award at 24 FPS Award 2009

The 6th Annual 24 FPS Awards 2009, India’s premier Animation awards organized by Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) held recently saw the best of Animation and visual effects works done by Hollywood, Bollywood and the ad-world.
From more than 200 entries, Mouse Trap the movie made by the MAAC Koramangala team bagged the Best Modeling and Texturing Award. Pehchaan Kaun, the movie by MAAC Delhi team won The Best Animated Film (GOLD), the most coveted award of the year. Ghajini created by FX Labs bagged the Best Game Design Awards along with Indian Games for Moving Maze. Rhythm & Hues won the Best Visual Effects Feature Film for Night in the Museum 2. Sanjiv Waeerkar, Chief Creative Officer, MAAC on this occasion expressed enthusiastically, "24 FPS Animation Awards has raised the bar yet again with more than 800 participants not just from India but from international field as well.”

24 FPS award and its criteria:

•   24 FPS, platform is to recognize and reward the Animation and visual effects artwork from domestic studios and also attracted an incredible participation from countries like China and Canada too.
•   This year 24 FPS have introduced the Viewer’s Choice Awards where audiences could select the best of the entries nominated.
•   Also two other categories were introduced the Best Game Design and Outstanding Contribution to Indian Animation Education Industry which will catapult the gamut to a different level all together."
•   From more than 200 film entries across India for 21 different award categories in 2009, 24FPS Awards 2009 had a whopping response. The films were judged along the parameters of Animation film production such as Story and Concept, Animation, Modeling, texturing, Lighting, Visual Effects to name a few.
