DU to release more OBC cutoff lists
DU (Delhi University) will be releasing more cut-off lists for OBC category students as quite a good number of seats are still left vacant in many colleges.
The university issued a notification on July 19, 2012 stating that colleges will declare 8th cut-off list for OBC students to different degree courses on July 21, 2012. The qualifying students will be given admission for which the fee can be paid from July 22 to July 23, 2012.
The university officials revealed that colleges may release more cut-off lists if the seats under OBC quota are left vacant even after 8th list. While most of the colleges may close their admissions through 8th list, courses in many off-campus colleges will remain open.
On July 19, 2012, university also released the 3rd cut-off list for BCom/BA programs of the non-collegiate women’s education board for the academic session 2012-13.
Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce and Janki Devi Memorial College have closed admissions for general category students to BA program while Hans Raj, Kalindi, Janki Devi Memorial College and Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce have closed admissions for BCom program.
However, colleges such as Lakshmibai, Shyam Prasad Mukherjee, Kalindi, Hans Raj, Maitreyi, Jesus & Mary, Janki Devi Memorial, Siddharth International School, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Bharati, PGDAV College and Maharaja Agrasen are open for admission against reserved category seats.
These courses for women are run by the non-collegiate board in these centers. These courses vary from that offered by School of Open Learning as students have to attend classes which are held on Saturdays, Sundays and during vacation of the colleges.
The course duration is of 50 days and students appear for the DU exams as other regular college students.
