Intercultural Study Centre to be constituted at Banaras Hindu University

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has now approved to constitute Malaviya Mulya Anusheelan Kendra and Intercultural Study Centre as an independent interdisciplinary centre on the occasion of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya's 150th birth anniversary celebrations.

The academic council recommendation was approved by the executive council on receiving the notification issued by the registrar.

The Faculty of Arts has also decided to host discussions and lectures around the great Hindu epic-Ramayana and its various cultural expressions in South -East Asia and South during the celebrations.

Fellowship awarded:

Saroj Chauramani Gopal, former Vice-chancellor of CSM Medical University, Lucknow has been awarded with the Raja Ramanna fellowship by the department of atomic energy. Gopal, who is currently first emeritus professor of Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, will be working on patients of spinal cord Injury. She will work on spinal cord regeneration with the help of stem cell therapy.
