Mumbai University TYBCom results 2012 registers a pass percentage of 81.5%
Mumbai University commerce students graduating from the portals have created a history by scoring high grades. The TYBCom result of this year has registered a pass percentage of 81.5% which is 18% above the Results of 2011.
Academicians have attributed the outstanding performance of students to various factors such as change in marking system, change in paper pattern and the evaluation system where 40% evaluation took place at respective colleges and rest 60% at the university level. Besides the high success rate the number of students bagging first class also rose by more than 100% this year.
Nearly 39,628 students crossed the mark of 60% this time against 17,956 candidates of 2011 who scored first rank. However, there was a remarkable drop in the number of students scoring second class. The result of the repeaters who reappeared for the exam under 80-20 scheme and distance learning students is yet to be declared.
This is the first time when university has witnessed such high Results for commerce graduates. In 2011, the university took 100 days time to declare the Results of TYBCom. This time the Results were declared within 55 days only despite of the protests of senior faculties acting as assessors against the central assessment scheme.
As per the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994, university must declare the Results within 30-45 days of the exam. In 2010, the Results were delayed by 3 months and in 2009 the Results were announced after 65 days.
The Results which were supposed to be available on the university website at 5 pm were uploaded after 8:30 pm.
Students can access online mark sheets from today, June 6, 2012 while hard copy will be delivered to the colleges within a week.
