Union Public Service Commission has announced the dates for Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination, which will be conducted in July 2012. The IFS will be held on Friday, July 14, 2012 (10 days).
IFS examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to the Indian Forest Service.
IFS 2012 Eligibility Criteria
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognized university or equivalent.
- Candidates appearing at their degree examination (with prescribed subjects) are also eligible to compete. Candidates qualifying on the result of the written part of the examination will be required to submit the proof of passing the requisite examination along with their detailed application form to be filled up at that stage.

IFS 2012 Paper Pattern
The examination is divided in 2 sections. The first section consists of written examination (1400 marks) which is conventional essay type and the second section consists of interview for personality test (300 marks).
