What is XAT?

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is an aptitude test conducted by XLRI on behalf of the XAMI for admission to various post graduate programs. XAT exam will be held on Saturday, January 05, 2014. For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting test at all India level to select the most appropriate for management education. The test score is being used by more than 100 institutes for the admission.

Eligibility for XAT 2014 –

  • Candidates who have completed bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university from India/abroad are eligible to apply.
  • Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2014 may also apply. Other XAT Associate Member Institutes may have a different date regarding the completion of the final examination.

Application Procedure for XAT 2014

Register for XAT: In order to register online for XAT, the applicant has to visit the website www.xatonline.net.in and click "XAT Registration". The XAT registration page opens up wherein he/she has to fill-in a few personal details i.e. name, father's name, address, email ID, phone no. etc. The applicant must create a password of their choice. Kindly note that the  applicant is required to preserve his/her XAT ID and password for any future correspondence with XAT office including downloading of the confirmation page and the admit card. After successful submission of these preliminary information the applicant will immediately get his/her XAT ID by email (which is automatically generated by the system). The applicant has to login to his/her email address and validate/check the mail received from the XAT office.

Paper Pattern for XAT 2014 –

  • XAT 2014 will be on the similar pattern like last few years.
  • It will have four sections (i) Verbal and Logical Ability (ii) Decision Making (iii) Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (iv) General Knowledge.
  • The marks of general knowledge will not be used for determining the percentile and cut off at first stage of selection. However it is used by XLRI and some other Associate Member Institutes at the time of final selection.
  • The test will be of 3 hours i.e. from 10:30 am to 01:30 pm.

Important Dates –

  • Last date for submission of application form: Monday, December 02, 2013.
  • Last date for submission of application form for XLRI: Saturday, December 21, 2013.
  • Date of XAT examination: Saturday, January 05, 2014.
  • Result declaration date: Friday, January 31, 2014.
