Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur for admission to post graduate management programs in various institutes across the country. XAT is conducted at the national level in more than 30 cities in India and also at four international test centers. Admission to the management courses offered at over 60 institutes in the country is based on the candidates’ XAT scores. XAT evaluates students on Aptitude, English Knowledge and Essay Writing.

The XAT 2013 will be held in the first week of January 2013.

Eligibility Criteria for XAT 2013:

• The candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree under the 10+2+3 system from a recognized university or a deemed university.
• Candidates who are appearing/awaiting their final examination Results are also eligible to apply.

How to Apply for XAT 2013:

• The candidate should register on the official website – www.xatonline.net.in.
• After registering, XAT ID and password will be sent to the candidates email ID.
• Using this ID and password the candidate should log on to the official website to complete the application form.
• A XAT pay in slip will be generated, the candidate is required to print it.
• Using the pay in slip, the candidate should pay the application fee of Rs. 900/- at any Axis Bank branch.
• The application fee can also be paid online using the online payment gateway.
• After filling in the payment details on their official website the candidate should print the XAT Registration Confirmation Page.
• The print out of the XAT Registration Confirmation Page along with the institute copy of the pay in slip/online payment slip should be sent to the ‘XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001’ within seven days from the date of payment.

Paper Pattern for XAT 2013:

• The test will have a total of 127 questions for duration of two and half hours.
• The paper will be divided into three sections:
• Reading Comprehension and English – 40 questions
• Quantitative Ability – 44 questions
• Interpretation and Reasoning – 43 questions
• Each question carries one mark.
• Negative marking will be 1/3^rd for first five wrong answers and ½ marks for subsequent wrong answers in the same section.

The XAT 2013 will be held in 38 cities across India: Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Berhampur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Goa, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mehboobnagar(A.P), Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Surat, Trivandrum, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijaywada, and Visakhapatnam.

XAT 2013 will also be held in four international centers: Colombo, Dhaka, Dubai, and Kathmandu.
