What is XAT 2016?

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is an aptitude test conducted by XLRI on behalf of the XAMI for admission to various postgraduate programs. XAT will be held on Sunday, January 03, 2016. For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting test at all India level to select the most appropriate for management education. The test score is being used by more than 100 institutes for the admission. XAT 2016 would also be conducted across India and two international cities- Dubai and Kathmandu.

Eligibility for XAT 2016:

Candidates who have completed bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university from India/abroad are eligible to apply.

Application Procedure for XAT 2016:

Candidates can apply online.

There are three possible modes of payment

  • Mode 1: 
    • Online Payment Gateway: Through VISA/Master Credit/Debit Cards (American Express Card is inadmissible)
    • IDBI Net banking (this option is available only for IDBI account holder)
  • Mode 2: Cash Payment: Please take a print out of the XAT Pay-In-Slip visit nearest IDBI bank and make the payment.
  • Mode 3: Demand Draft: Please make a DD made from any Bank in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" payable at Jamshedpur.

Paper Pattern for XAT 2016:

  • The test will be of 3 1/2 hours (10:00am to 1:30pm).
  • It will have four sections:
    • Quantitative Ability
    • English Language & Logical Reasoning
    • Decision Making
    • GK
    • Essay
  • The format of XAT would remain pen-paper based.
  • This is to ensure that candidates of all backgrounds are at par, so that those who have pre-familiarity of operating computers, specially coming from privileged background or having worked in IT sector, do not get any advantage over others who do not have access to computers.
  • The paper-pen mode also ensures that all candidates are tested on exactly the same set of questions, and not on different sets.
Important Dates -
  • Last date for applying: Monday, November 30, 2015.
  • Last date to change test city: Thursday, November 26, 2015.
  • Downloading of admit cards: Sunday, December 20, 2015 to Thursday, December 31, 2015.
  • Date of XAT: Sunday, January 03, 2016.
  • Declaration of result: Sunday, January 31, 2016.
