XAT 2012 (Xavier Aptitude Test)  was conducted on January 8, 2012, Sunday successfully. XAT 2012 was not less challenging than the previous years’ papers. XAT continued the pattern of differential marking this year. There were 85 questions in the paper worth 100 marks. Each question had 5 options. The penalty for incorrect answers was 25% of the marks allotted to the question.

One change this year was that the Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making Section was replaced by a section that was completely on Decision Making. There were no easy questions in this section and a test-taker needed to look for questions in which he/she was comfortable.

The English Language Ability, Logical Reasoning section and the Quantitative Ability section were relatively easier than last year. There were quite a few questions that were easy and should have been attempted from each of these sections
