innovative protest!!
i see Bangaloreans have been coming up with "new new" (in the local lingo) ways of protesting the ban on dancing at night clubs.
this one i found exceptionally interesting..

this report was carried by Mid Day , Bangalore.
last week sometime, i don't remember the date exactly, nor do i remember the time, but it was surely sometime in the day... there suddenly was a loud whistle heard on Brigade Road and all of a sudden a group of around 70 people began dancing. a short while later, there was another whistle and all these people stopped dancing, and just continued walking!
this was their way of protesting the ban on dancing in night clubs.
a social networking site was apparently the medium through which these folks communicated.
how innovative!!
no security hassles, no violence, no shouting, no police involved. a dance to save dance!
they danced and before anyone could realize what was happening or cops could arrive on the scene, they stopped and all looked normal again.
a couple of months ago something equally interesting happened...
eunuchs were brought to night clubs and asked to dance- another way of protesting against the 'rule' that prohibits guys and girls from hitting the dance floor!
i do not see what the issue with dancing or partying is!
dancing is a way of letting loose, a way of having some nice harmless fun.
i do agree that partying means drinking is involved, and this could lead to road mishaps or other security threats. well... i suggest strict action be taken against drunken driving and those pubs and discos that run without a license.
to put restrictions on fun-lovers like us is not right.
as for those Rakshana Vedike people who keep protesting against anything and everything in the name of preserving culture...
ahem.. excuse me, but having fun is not a bad thing according to our scriptures. in fact, all the incarnations of Vishnu on earth did have their own share of fun. and Shiva himself can't keep himself from dancing with his lady Parvathi.
grow up ppl.
Bangalore is not dumb to fall for such gimmicks of yours, if that's what you're looking at to increase your vote banks.
