IIM Raipur’s annual management and cultural event Equinox ’2012 came to a grand close on Tuesday night with sensational band Indian Ocean enthralling the crowd with a rocking performance. The two day extravaganza which saw participants from all over India contesting for various events thus ended in a grand manner.
The events on the first day tested the financial expertise of the candidates through the event ‘Pitch’ and also the analytical skills through the case study competition. The ‘Recycle Bin’ tested the creativity of the participants with some participants making excellent models out of the waste material. The evening was fun filled with cultural events that took place in the Netaji Subhash stadium. Bands from various colleges amazed the crowd with their lively performances. Fashionista event exhibited the latest trends in clothing with sizzling catwalk by the participants. Event ‘Foot Work’ saw some thumping hip hop performances and also some spirited theme based performances on social issues.
The second day witnessed academic events like marketing case study and book review competition along with artistic events like the T-shirt painting, poetry competition and JAM. Participants made paintings on various themes which they explained to the judges for final evaluation. The poetry competition was a laughing treat for the audience. The JAM event saw all the participants fighting fiercely for each and every point.
Finally everyone assembled at the stadium to witness the musical concert by Indian Ocean. The occasion was graced by the chief guests Mr. Anil Nawani, DGP of Chhattisgarh, Mrs. Kiranmayee Nayak, Mayor, Raipur and Mr. Ajay Shrivastav from Chhatisgarh Tourism Board. Indian Ocean, known for their unique style of music made an everlasting place in the hearts of people of Raipur by their captivating performance.
