India is considered among the leading destinations for doing business, especially in the service sector. With the best available skilled, managerial and technical manpower in the world, India has a distinct advantage in the service sector to face global competition, in addition to its favourable costs.
On the one hand, the growth of the service industry in India has been broad-based, although phenomenal, in communications, business and finance. On the other hand, there are various challenges in terms of infrastructure, security, quality and policies. The World Bank report on India, as a destination for business, emphasizes the immediate need to address these challenges.
To enable an in-depth discussions of ideas on this important theme, IFIM Business School, Bangalore is organizing the 4th international conference on “Doing Business in India: Opportunities and Challenges in the service sector” on 11th and 12th January 2012. The conference is designed to discuss and deliberate on important service sectors such as Education, Retail, Financial Services, Health Care and Medical Tourism as independent tracks. Each track would have a panel discussion having eminent personalities from corporate and academics, followed by presentation of research papers by delegates.
