Several thousand candidates from all over India appeared on Day 12 of the Common Admission Test ’2013 (CAT ’2013) on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. CAT ’13 began on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 and will be conducted over a 20 day period till Monday, November 11, 2013, in 40 cities in India.
CAT ’2013 has 2 sections-Quantitative Ability (QA) and Data Interpretation (DI) as well as Verbal Ability (VA) and Logical Reasoning (LR).
Candidates who wrote CAT ’2013 on Day 12 claimed that the QA section was moderate in terms of difficulty. The QA section had most questions on Geometry. Questions on Permutation and Combination (P and C) were absent in several question sets. The remaining questions were framed from known topics including Trigonometry, Arithmetic, Mensuration, Number System, Time, Speed & Distance, etc.
As per the students, the DI section was calculation intensive, hence time consuming. Questions relating to Tables and Bar Graphs featured mostly in the section.
The test takers on Day 12 claimed that the VA section was easy. The questions were framed from all topics such as Para Jumbles, Reading Comprehension (RC), Vocabulary, Identifying out of Context Sentences and Error Correction in Paragraph. The passages consisted of around 600 to 650 words. The survey-based passages were easy and the questions direct.
As per the Day 12 test takers of CAT ’2013, the LR section was very easy with questions framed on Sequencing and Family Tree.
CAT aptitude test is one of the most prestigious examinations in India for admission into the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as well as other premier management institutes.
