The test day video of the Common Admission Test 2014 (CAT 2014) has been released on the website. The video gives a better understanding of the test day guidelines, login and answering procedures for the test to the candidates.
The CAT 2014 aspirants need to follow a set of instructions, as mentioned below.
Timings: CAT 2014 will be held on Sunday, November 16 and Saturday, November 22, 2014. The forenoon session and afternoon sessions on both the days will be held from 9.30 am to 12.20 pm and from 3 pm to 5.50 pm respectively. The reporting times for the forenoon and afternoon sessions are 7.30 am and 1 pm respectively. No candidate will be allowed to enter the test center after 8.45 am for the forenoon session and post 2.15 pm for the afternoon session. Candidates are advised to locate their test center and its accessibility at least a day before the test, so that they can reach the center on time on the test day.
Admit Cards: All the candidates need to carry their admit cards and photo ID card to the test center. The admit cards have been made available for view/download/print at the CAT site from 1 pm on Sunday, October 19, 2014. The admit cards will include the Candidate Name, Test Date and Session Timing as well as Test City and Center Address, among other details. The candidates need to download the admit cards by logging in to the CAT 2014 website with their registered CAT user ID and password. Candidates are advised to check the details mentioned in the admit cards.
If the candidate name has changed, they need to produce the relevant documents such as marriage certificate, legal name change, etc. and submit a notarized photocopy when they appear for the test, interview and at the time of joining a program.
Discrepancy, if any, in Date of Birth and/or Gender can be edited on the CAT website from 10 am on Tuesday, November 25 to 5 pm on Friday, November 28, 2014.
The printout of the admit cards have to be taken on A4 size paper using a laser printer. An admit card is valid only if the candidate's photograph and signature images are legibly printed.
At Test Center: At the entry point of the CAT test center, volunteers will check the photo identification (original & valid) and admit card of the candidate to ensure that it is the allocated test center, the right date and session. After this point, no one else can accompany the candidate.
Mobile phones or any other electronic gadget is not allowed inside the examination hall and there is no facility for safekeeping of personal belongings outside the test hall.
On the notice board inside the test center, candidates can locate the lab assigned based on the Name and Registration Number mentioned on the admit card. Once at the assigned lab, candidates need to confirm that their Registration Number is present on the sheet. Once the candidates are seated at the terminal, they will not be allowed to go out. The lab door will close 30 minutes before the test.
Important: At no point during the test, the candidate should touch the keyboard. Doing so will lock the terminal. All answer choices should be made using the mouse.
Rough sheets and pen will be provided to the candidate for rough work which has to be returned after the test. Candidate should write their names and registration numbers on the rough sheets.
