Time for preparations for CBSE Board students is now over! CBSE Board exams for class X and class XII start today on Thursday, March 1, 2012. All over India, nearly 8 lakh students will take the Class 12 exams this year, while 11.8 lakh will take the class 10 exams. The examination schedule for class XII kicked off with English subject and for class X the first exam was painting. To reduce the stress of the students, CBSE last year gave the class Xth students the choice of opting between board exams and school-based exams. Most of the students this year are opting for the school-based exams. For keeping a vigil and a check on the examination center, the board has formulated flying squads. The board has also demanded for police security at the test centers from the local administration.

New Delhi Region
The examination for Class X and Class XII for the schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have commenced today. Nearly, 7.5 lakh students are taking the class XII and Xth exam from New Delhi. The Class XII exam will end on April 13, 2012 and the Class X exam will end on March 26.
Nearly, 1,127,373 students from the Ajmer region, which includes Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan, appeared for the Class 10th exam. Out of these students, almost 41,101 have opted for board exams over school-based exams, wherein 25, 315 are boys and 15,786 are girls. 72,656 students from Ajmer region have chosen school-based exams over board exams. In all there are about 399 test centers within the Ajmer region.
Nearly, 86, 420 students out of which 51,754 are boys are taking the class XII exams from 396 allotted centers in Ajmer region. About 1,028 schools from the Ajmer region are participating in the class XII board exams.
The school-based class X examinations will also commence from March 1. The board has sent the question papers for various subjects to the schools. Sources from examination department reveal that the schools have been instructed to conduct the exams in a cluster so that no exams are repeated in other schools. The school-based exams will end on March 15. The Results for class X will be declared in May, 2012.
The Chennai Zone, comprising of Daman and Diu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry, Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra have 69, 825 students taking class XII exam today. 96,959 students will take the Class 10 exam in the Chennai zone, whereas 55,366 students have opted for the school-based exam. 16, 466 students from Tamil Nadu have opted for the board exam and 5, 418 children have opted for the school based exam.
The teachers are asking the students to relax and concentrate on their studies. The only mantras for success in board exams is eat well, sleep well and study well.
