Around 53,000 aspirants are expected to appear for the Common Management Admission Test September 2015-16 First Test (CMAT September 2015-16 First Test), according to officials of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
CMAT September 2015-16 will be held from Thursday, September 25 to Monday, September 29, 2014 and the Results are expected to be declared on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Printout of score cards can be taken from Thursday, October 30 to Sunday, November 30, 2014.
The candidates will be given two opportunities to appear in CMAT - first in September, 2014 and second in February, 2015. The better of the two scores will be used for admission for 2015-16.
The test will consist of four sections, namely, Quantitative Technique (QT) and Data Interpretation (DI), Language Comprehension (LC), Logical Reasoning (LR) and Current/General Awareness (C/GA).
Candidates need to note that they have to carry an attested copy of the admit card, photo identification and special category certificates if applicable at the test center.
The registrations for the examination were conducted from Thursday, July 3 to Monday, September 1, 2014. The number of registrations for the CMAT September 2015-16 First Test has actually decreased, according to data. Altogether in the previous session, which includes CMAT held in September 2013 and February 2014, over 1,80,000 candidates had appeared for the examination. Past trends of the CMAT examination have shown that the number of registrants in the first test (held in September) drops every year, which increases again for the second test (held in February).
CMAT February 2014 had over 1 lakh registrants, although few did not actually appear for the test. CMAT is conducted twice a year, in the months of September and February, to grant admissions for one academic session. Aspirants can appear for both the tests or one test, depending on their preference.
Candidates who have been allotted Jammu as their test center need to note that the test will be held as per schedule, according to the official website. As per an earlier update, the website had stated that candidates who have been allotted Jammu and Srinagar as their test center can opt for alternate centers, due to the flood situation in the region. However, the CMAT 2015-16 First Test scheduled at the Government Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28, 2014 has been cancelled.
