Ambedkar University (AUD), Delhi was established in 2007 by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi through an Act of Legislature, popularly known as Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar University. AUD is a public University with a campus-based, unitary structure with research, postgraduate and undergraduate programs in the social sciences and the humanities.  The University aspires to combine equity and social justice with excellence and to pioneer an institutional culture of non-hierarchical functioning, team work and creativity. AUD is the only university in this region to cater exclusively to the study of the humanities and the social sciences.

Student's Life at Ambedkar University -
AUD has established a series of cultural societies to galvanism the intellectual and extracurricular life of students in the campus. The Economics Society and the Society for Visual Culture has also been activated at the campus. There are regular talks, lectures, screenings and performances in the campus and students are encouraged to participate in and organize events around them.
International Collaboration at Ambedkar University -
AUD has explored opportunities for international educational cooperation and signed (bilateral) memoranda of understanding with foreign institutions and negotiated with institutions to establish international student and faculty exchanges, joint degree programs, research collaboration and educational program design. The University’s international partnerships are overseen by the Advisory Committee for International Partnerships (ACIP) whose primary role is to advise and manage the academic agreements between the University and foreign institutions/international agencies for exchange of students and faculty.
