Army Institute of Law (AIS), Mohali was established in 1999 under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). The Institute is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala and approved by the Bar Council of India.Army Institute of Law is running B.A., LL.B. (5 years Degree Course). The entire course is divided into 10 semesters. During the first four semesters, the students are taught a few social science subjects i.e., Sociology, Economics, Political Science and History along with the Law subjects with the objective of providing inter-disciplinary approach to law.


An inter-disciplinary approach in the study of law puts the students on strong footing for undertaking professional legal education and gaining competitive acumen. Students are awarded the degree of BA (Law) after completion of 3 years and after completing 5 years, the students are awarded the degree of B.A., LL.B. The main mission of the institute is to be a premier center for legal education by adopting healthy teaching practices which cater to the students' need of achieving theoretical and practical legal expertise in highly efficient and competitive legal environment along with adequate exposure in all other spheres of life.
