Auxilium College, Vellore was established in 1954. The college was affiliated to the University of Madras but from September 2003, it is affiliated to the newly established Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. This was the first women's college in the district. College has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A+ grade in 2003 and Re- accredited with A grade. It is a minority Institution established and administrated by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, commonly known as Salesain Sisters of Don Bosco, belonging to the Catholic Church.
College is primarily meant for higher education of deserving Catholics but members of other communities are also admitted without reference to caste or creed and their rights of conscience are respected. The vision of the college is the education of young women, especially the poor and the marginalized, who have the least opportunities for progress and advancement. The mission of the college is to produce in a Salesian atmosphere, intellectually enlightened, spiritually inspired, emotionally balanced, morally upright, socially committed, integrally formed and accomplished young women who will be agents of social change in today`s India.

The College is located in a sprawling 100 acre campus with the auxilium elementary, primary and higher secondary school on one side and sacred heart training centre on the other. The college is maintained with beautiful gardens and shady trees sheltering a variety of birds, reveals the beauty and the charm of Mother Nature. The cleanliness, Orderliness and aesthetic sense that encompasses the entire area reflects the divine presence. The college chapel, which is situated in the centre of the campus, is an invitation to everyone to experience God's abiding presence and regain spiritual energies.
