Bangalore University, Department of Commerce, Bangalore was established in 1969 and introduced Post Graduate Diplomas in Business Administration, Marketing Management and Personnel Management and Industrial Relations in 1975. In 1976 MBA both day and evening were started and after running it for 20 years, entrusted it to the newly established Canara Bank School of Management Studies in 1998. The department also started offering M.F.A (Master of Finance and Accounting) in 1999, M.T.A (Master of Tourism Administration) in 2000 and M.I.B (Master of International Business) in 2006. Post graduate Diplomas in International Business, Insurance, Hospital Administration and Health Care Management were also started from 2000.
