Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT) was established in 1906. It is one of the South Island’s largest tertiary institutes. Students of CPIT will be taught by industry professionals and they will be benefited from a high staff-student ratio. Their lecturers and tutors are chosen for expertise in their field and share their knowledge, practical experience and industry connections to ensure students graduate work ready from day one.

The institute has two main campuses in Christchurch – Madras Street and the Trades Innovation Institute on Sullivan Avenue. As part of their commitment to encouraging access to computing education throughout their local community, they also have four campuses connect branches in Hornby, Bishopdale, New Brighton and Rangiora.

The career centre offers free service to students and prospective students including high school students. The career centre assist students and graduates by providing information about a range of employment opportunities via CareerHub, CPIT's web based job management system.
