About Computer Power Plus
Computer Power Plus is a specialist IT training provider with campuses in Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch. We offer industry recognised, practical qualifications in a unique, self-directed learning environment, with free and effective graduate placement support.
Computer Power Plus is owned by Whitireia New Zealand Limited and is jointly operated by Whitireia New Zealand and Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec), two very successful and highly regarded Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics in New Zealand.
More than 90% of our eligible graduates have been successfully placed into employment within the IT Industry. We offer an exceptional level of support to graduates in this area and work closely with a large network of IT employers. In fact since 1968 we have placed over 30,000 of our graduates into employment.
All Computer Power Plus qualifications are NZQA approved and all diplomas offer training towards globally recognised IT vendor certifications.
Each single year diploma is a stand-alone programme designed to enable students to progress if desired, from NZQA Diploma Level 5 to Level 6 or direct to Level 7. Recognition of prior learning and credit transfer applies by application.
We offer a structured orientation programme for new international students arriving in our campuses.
- Unique student-centred learning model
The self-directed learning environment offered by Computer Power Plus allows you to take control of your own learning. You study on campus, following a personalised schedule agreed to at enrolment. All the resources you require are supplied to you and qualified, experienced instructors are on hand to support you in working through your qualification.
Unlike a traditional school, you will not be learning in a classroom with one teacher, taking you through a topic at a time. Instead you will be working on an open training floor at your own work station. This means that you can study at a faster pace and not be held back by students who are learning more slowly. Most students find that there are topics that they find much easier than others.
Studying full-time within our business environment simulates a normal working day on the job. This is based on a campus study shift of five hours per day with another two and a half hours spent studying either at home or the library each day.
Computer Power Plus's blended learning strategy provides for both theory and hands-on practical experience.
- Professional Development Programme
To assist you in achieving the goal of obtaining your ideal job upon graduation, we have developed a comprehensive and focused professional development programme.
