Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore was established in 1964 as Indore University. It is a statutory University of the State Government of Madhya Pradesh by an act of legislature of Madhya Pradesh. The University is recognized by the State Government and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. In 1988, the university was renamed after the famous and benevolent ruler of Malwa i.e. Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar. The university was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has won the Centre of Excellence award by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
The main objective of the institute is to provide specialized high quality education by integrating traditional and modern scientific techniques in teaching-learning process through on-campus, distance and part-time programs offered in a flexible and modular manner. Its mission is to produce world-class professionals with excellent analytical, communication skills, team building spirit and ability to work in cross-cultural environment.
