Founded in 2007 by Friends Of the class of PGP Seventy Three of IIMA and hence the name FOSTIIMA Business School came about. FOSTIIMA aims to identify talent and develop therein leadership skills to create a pool of managers for the new emerging India. Here we provide an IIM atmosphere and excellent career opportunities to those who have not made it to the IIMs. Over the years FOSTIMA has developed into a movement where several more IIM and IIT alumni have contributed with the sole intent of 'giving back' to the Society at large. The knowledge and experience they acquired at these premium institutions is to be shared with the new generation of managers. Today more than 50+ IIM Alumni are directly providing inputs at FOSTIIMA, across our campuses in Delhi and Mumbai - in Management, Curriculum Design, Content Development, and, as Faculty. Why the Institute?FOSTIIMA has the largest group of IIM Ahmedabad graduates working together towards a common goal. Not only is it created and managed by IIMA alumni, its large Faculty pool is also drawn from IIM/IIT alumni. They bring with them their vast corporate experiences, industry practices and global business perspective to FOSTIIMA Students. FOSTIIMA is the brainchild of IIM alumni partly motivated by their desire to give back to Indian society at large (from which they have derived so many benefits) as well as to create for a wider body of students the opportunity to partake of at least some parts of the IIM experience. We have had strong and growing interest from both recent and veteran IIM alumni to participate in teaching and placement. Lastly, the primary motivation of nearly all IIM alumni is to ensure that FOSTIIMA graduates get access to the intellectual and professional network which have a distinct IIM flavor to it. The second campus in Mumbai is in an independent new floor in a great location. In spite of shrinking numbers of CAT applicants we decided not to delay expansion and went ahead with the capital expenses by widening the pool of financial stakeholders (restricted to a select few from IIMA). With the optimism being generated by the job creation numbers in the US, the buoyancy in the employment and CAT figures shall be appreciable, rather soon, and god willing, HAPPY LEARNING AT BOTH CAMPUSES Managements Programs OfferedPost Graduate Program in Management FOSTIIMA offers a two years full time Post Graduate Program in Management + MBA in partnership with Pondicherry University in its prestigious TWINNING program. The Dual certification Program is designed for those who have completed their graduation or appearing for their final year Degree examination. The program is UGC/AIU approved and has Specializations in Marketing, Finance and HRM. Under Graduate Program in Management FOSTIIMA offers a three year full time Under Graduate Program in Management in partnership with Punjab Technical University. The program is designed for students who have just cleared the 10+2 examination conducted by the CBSE or State Boards. The program is UGC/AIU approved. Admission ProcedureThe Application Form can be obtained from the Admissions Office at FOSTIIMA campus or downloaded from FOSTIIMA website: www.fostiima.org. Completed application form should be sent to the Admission Office along with requisite documents.The Application Form can also be filled and submitted online. The accompanying documents listed above in this case can be submitted at the time of Group Discussion and the Personal Interview, if invited for the same Admission Criteria: Admission to FOSTIIMA's PGPM takes into account the applicant's academic performance in graduation, school, score in CAT / XAT / MAT exams and performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The short-listing and selection is a weighted average of the applicant's overall performance, cut-off levels are likely to be above 50% marks in graduation and a CAT or XAT score above 75 percentile. Those applicants who have not appeared at any MBA Entrance Exam (CAT / XAT / MAT) can appear at FOSTIIMA Eligibility and Aptitude Test or FEAT, an aptitude test conducted by FOSTIIMA, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Well-rounded individuals who display leadership skills personal initiative and interest in learning will be given preference. The Composite Score arrived at, on the above evaluation parameters constitutes the basis for admission. Final Selection The successful candidates shall be informed of their selection within seven days of the Interviews. The candidates must then pay their first installment of fees within seven days of being informed of their selection, to reserve their seats. FOSTIIMA has limited intake and seats shall be offered to selected candidates on a first-come first-served basis. FOSTIIMA has its own hostel within walking distance of the campus. Placements and Corporate AssociationExcellent Placements is one of the greatest strengths of FOSTIIMA B-School. FOSTIIMA believes that its prime responsibility to ensure that all its Students get placed in well known Corporates as per their specialization and abilities. FOSTIIMA has ensured 100% placements with the highest package of Rs. 16.75 lacs per annum (pa). To insure the best Campus Placements for its Students, the Placement Cell at FOSTIIMA [headed by an IIMA alumnus] maintains close contacts with well known Corporates through networking with pan IIT-IIM alumni and arranges campus interviews for the Students. These linkages are in a wide spectrum of Business Segments viz. Management Consulting, IT & ITES, Banking, Financial Services, Engineering, FMCG & FMCD, etc. ensures ready availability of placement opportunities to FOSTIIMA Students. Summer Internships A two-month Summer Internship at the end of the first year of the PGPM program is an integral part of FOSTIIMA's curriculum and as a policy, FOSTIIMA accepts only 'Stipend-paid' summer Internships for its Students. Payment of a stipend ensures that the Student takes the internship seriously thereby ensuring that the Student derives the maximum practical knowledge and also satisfies the Corporate with his/her best efforts. The stipend maximizes the motivation at both ends; the students as well as their mentors. Last year FOSTIIMA Students did Summer Internships with stipends up to Rs. 40,000 per month. The Median Stipend was Rs. 17,000 per month. Many FOSTIIMA Summer Interns receive PPOs (Pre Placement Offers i.e. offer of a regular job) from the Corporate satisfied with their performance during the Internship. Most of the corporates that visited FOSTIIMA for placements have returned for recruitments again the next year. The compensations offered have been at par with the older premier B-schools. for instance, Citibank offered a ctc of Rs. 8.10 lacs pa; Britannia Industries offered Rs. 11 lacs pa; Avalon Consulting offered Rs. 10.50 lacs pa; IBM offered Rs.10 lacs pa; ICICI Bank offered Rs. 6.54 lacs pa.
