Government Medical College (GMC), Kota was established in 1992. The college is affiliated to the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences and approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The college was established by the Government of Rajasthan, in order to serve up the purpose of imparting medical education as well as providing health care facilities to the people of the Hadoti Region, Kota, of the state. The opening of the medical college paved the way for the people of region, to receive education as well as medical services in a convenient way. The institute offers a variety of medical courses for undergraduates as well as post graduates. Govt. Medical College Kota provides an ideal atmosphere for education and learning. It offers all the basic amenities to its students, within its campus.

Government Medical College, Kota is situated at Rangbari Road, about 14 kilometers away from Kota junction railway station and about 10 kilometers away from Rajasthan road ways bus stand. This campus comprises of college building, administrative block, auditorium, indoor courts and gymnasium, boys and girls hostels, guest house, faculty and staff accommodation, new Medical College Hospital and an independent branch of SBBJ.
