Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala was established in 1945. The college is one of the leading colleges of commerce in the entire northern region situated in the princely city of Patiala.The college is an epitome of glory & grandeur in the field of commerce. In 1955, the college was shifted to Patiala from Fridkot. Initially, the college was affiliated to Panjab University and later it got affiliated to Punjabi University in 1962.the college is the only single faculty prestigious college of commerce in the state of Punjab. This college is accredited by N.A.A.C. with B++ Grade.
The Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala endeavors to provide educational opportunities that emphasize skills and knowledge in the field of commerce that will allow the students to adjust through a lifetime of social and technological changes. They recognize that education is vital in developing skills needed for a productive society and essential in promoting the individual's sense of worth, values and high ethical standards. The college is committed to offer quality commerce education to its students and assist them in discovering their professional qualities and to fulfill their educational goals.
Two kinds of Scholarships i.e. Govt. and Private Scholarships are given to students. Punjab Govt. is providing Scholarships to SC and BC students. Besides it, Merit and National Scholarships are also provided. Apart from Govt. Scholarships, Nine private Scholarships are sponsored by the former faculty members, Alumni and some philanthropists to the students.
