Govt.Degree College for Women, Karimnagar was established in 1973. The progressive and constructive thinkers of Karimnagar recognized the paramount importance of women education in building modern India, sowed seeds of Govt.Degree College for Women at Karimnagar. Dr.V.Kondal Rao eminent educationist and philanthropist, Sri.M.Satyna Narayana Rao, the then M.P Sri. J.Gopal Rao, former Municipal chairman, Sri. Mukund lal Mishra and Bomma Venkanna strived hard in establishment of the college.
The College started with 262 students with two subject combinations. Then the college was housed in former basic training school in 14.5 acres. Keeping in view the changing scenario and challenging trends in the modern society, they have introduced restructured courses, retaining conventional courses. The basic objective of education is to evolve a value oriented system which would turn every individual into a moral personality.

Scholarship are provides for EBC, SC, ST, minority and merit scholarship for eligible candidates (as per the government norms).Beedi-leaves workers welfare association and single-girl child scholarship are also offered for eligible students.
