Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), Bidar was established in 1980 by the Prabandhak Committee, Gurudwara Sri Nanak Jhira Saheb, Bidar as per the Govt. of Karnataka. The College is a premier center of technical education. The present college is being managed by Sri Nanak Jhira Saheb Foundation (Trust). Initially, the college was affiliated to Gulbarga University, Gulbarga. However, subsequently a separate technical university Viz. Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, has been established during the academic year 1998-99 and since then this college has been affiliated to the said university.
The College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. At Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, there is no compromise when it comes to adopting a professional approach in education. The faculty is a pick of the finest, highly qualified academicians in every field. The courses have been designed to bring out the dormant professional in every aspect of Engineering that has relevance in the contemporary world, has been identified to create a platform of knowledge that is the springboard of professional careers.
