Holy Cross College for Women, Hyderabad dates back to 1978. The college is a self-financing. In 1991, orders were received to start the college. The new college was christened as ‘Holy Cross Junior College for Girls, BHEL’. A record number of 530 students were admitted with two sections each of MPC, BPC, CEC and MEC groups. The Junior college started functioning in 1991 and then it was upgraded as a degree college in 1994. The need for an institution of higher education, exclusively for girls was keenly felt by everyone of the Locality. The BHEL Management impressed by the dedication, sincerity and commitment of the Holy Cross Sisters deputed Mr. V.A. Sunder, GM, BHEL to initiate the dialogue with the Sisters.
The goal of the College is to educate and empowering women. The institution has combined the goodness of the cross with the kindness of a mother in molding the character of its students and thus contributing to the building of the nation. The main aim at imparting value based quality education, which will enable our students to face the challenges of today’s world. At Holy Cross College, the students will find a knowledge environment to grow in, be exposed to skill based learning and placement opportunities, grow spiritually and develop innovative ideas.
