IBS, Kolkatta was established in 1995. The Institute is committed to achieving the right balance between an active industry interface and academic delivery of the highest quality. Land acquisition is in progress. Campus project will be taken up in 2010 after obtaining necessary approvals. At present, IBS Kolkata campus is spread across 3 adjacent landmark buildings in Sector V, Salt Lake City - the hub of the knowledge industry in West Bengal.

The Career Management Center (CMC) has developed strong networks with more than 1000 companies over the years. In several cases, students receive placement offers from the organization where they undergo Summer Internship Program (SIP) and Management Research Project (MRP).
