Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli was established in 2011-2012. IIM Trichy is the eleventh Indian Institute of Management in the country and is one of the seven IIM's, the government is setting up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. IIM-Trichy offers two-year full-time Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP). Their main objective is to develop young men and women into competent professional managers, capable of working in any sector of organized activity, proceeding leadership and achieving excellence in performance while contributing to the welfare of the larger society. Admissions to the post-graduate program is competitive, and done through the CAT. It require competitive scores and excellent GD/PI. The faculty of the institution have excelled in various fields.
Campus :-
The institute is temporarily function from National Institute of Technology campus until the permanent building is in place. NIT-T will provide buildings for classes, hostel and faculty accommodation. The permanent campus for the institute will be in 200 acres (0.81 km2) of land between Bharathidasan University and Anna University of Technology on the Trichy-Pudukottai highway, 17 km south-east of the city centre and 12 km from Tiruchirapalli International Airport.
