The Centre for Executive Education has developed in-depth expertise in designing custom designed programmes. To ensure depth of content, a team of CEE executives and faculty study the issues faced by the organisation, identify the learning needs, and design a programme specifically to address those needs. The programmes are non-replicable in nature and address the individual organisation’s requirements alone. They create immense value for the organisation by meeting developmental needs of senior executives while addressing critical business challenges. Action learning projects ensure that the relevance-rigour-application gap is bridged. Thereby ensuring high return on investment made by the organisations. The CEE has developed expertise to consult on ROI on learning for organisations. The CEE has collaborated with organisations from diverse industries and delivered unique learning solutions for their senior management and leaders. The methodology deployed in the programmes are a combination of case studies, simulations, action learning, industry speakers, workplace projects, and intense faculty led class room learning sessions. All of these generate new insights and reorient the mindset of the learner. The ISB’s expertise for designing managerial and strategic programmes have resulted in the CEE becoming their most preferred partner for progress. Benefits Clearly, Custom Designed Programmes offer a repertoire of special benefits. Alternate route to resolve business challenges Executive education has been a preferred route to overcome business challenges by providing relevant inputs to executives who are facing the same and are expected to find a workable solution. ISB's custom designed executive education programmes provide the right context and content to the executives of the organisation, who thereafter design solutions that work best for the scenario which they are facing. Individual and organisational development The Executive Education programmes raise the floor level of an organisation and also prepare it better for executing the designed strategy. The world class case studies and insights discussed in the classroom provide ideas that challenge the existing paradigms and mindsets. This leads to organisational development if managed properly and sustained over time internally by the organisation. Employee Reach The programmes are ideally suited for developing a large number of employees in the organisation, both within functions and across. This makes it possible for the company to implement organisational change smoothly and become more competitive immediately. Value Proposition The ISB offers several unique advantages never before available in India. In one bold stroke, the ISB has made accessible fresh and current management thinking and has raised benchmarks in education to meet and often exceed international standards. The academic content, the teaching methods, and the setting in which the two come together; have a long lasting and indelible impact on everyone that experiences it. 1. World Class Faculty and Rich Academic Content The ISB’s faculty model attracts the best of faculty from all over the world to teach in its programmes. The faculty, drawn from leading institutions, bring international industry experience, research based knowledge, and teaching expertise to the classroom. The CEE has the unique advantage of drawing faculty with relevant industry experience from any top institution to design and deliver programmes that are valuable to the organisation. 2. Focus on Emerging Market Issues The ISB has established seven Centres of Excellence: the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (WCED), the Centre for Global Logistics & Manufacturing Strategies (GLAMS), the Centre for Analytical Finance (CAF), the Srini Raju Centre for IT and the Networked Economy (SRITNE), Centre for Leadership, Innovation and Change (CLIC), Centre for Emerging Markets Solutions (CEMS) and Centre for Case Development (CCD). One more Centre of Excellence on Strategic Marketing will be established shortly. The Centres collaborate with international institutions and faculty and conduct cutting edge research on emerging market issues. The relevant findings are immediately shared in the classroom. 3. The Learning Experience Faculty maximise the ISB’s excellent infrastructure to make the learning experience interactive and enjoyable. In addition to lectures and group work, varieties of technology assisted approaches such as, video conferences, web based learning, live simulation exercises and a host of other methods are used to make a strong impact and ensure that the learning becomes part of every individual’s DNA. 4. Immediately Applicable Action Projects Every programme includes action projects for all participants, designed in consultation with the organisation’s senior management. The projects are immediately applied to existing issues in the organisation and are actively supervised by faculty to achieve beneficial solutions. This ensures that academic inputs are at once translated into practical and applicable knowledge that has a lasting impact on both the employee and the organisation. 5. Transformation Made Feasible Organisational transformation and leadership development can be a long and complex process. CEE has worked with large organisations on initiatives where learning is spread over long periods of time and seamlessly integrated with workplace projects that directly impact the organisation. This learning is delivered through multiple classroom sessions, global industry visits, and facilitated action projects. CEE has developed the expertise to create learning solutions for complex organisational issues using innovative pedagogies. These interventions are spread over time to make the transformation smooth, effective, and long lasting 6. Excellent Infrastructure The modern classrooms equipped with the latest technology, the breathtaking architecture, the inspiring academic centre, the excellent library, comfortable residences, and large, green , open spaces make an indelible impression. Combined with the academic rigour and impressive faculty, the awe inspiring infrastructure of the ISB transforms every individual that experiences it. 7. Competitive Advantage In a fast changing world economy, rich and fresh content adds an edge to the organisation’s repertoire of knowledge. The CEE teams, along with the diverse faculty pool, have developed domain expertise and a rich body of knowledge across several industries such as oil and gas, banking and financial services, insurance, telecom, consultancy services, and several others. Companies derive great benefit from the insights as they are used extensively to generate unique solutions for the industry and the organisation, across various levels of management Pedagogy / Methodology The CEE designs programmes in five distinct steps - Engage, Establish, Evolve, Ensure, and Enable. The E5 approach allows for a deep understanding of the organisation’s issues and enables the CEE team to efficiently deliver a programme that brings about a lasting change in the organisation. E1: Engage with the organisation § Preliminary discussions § Presentation by the ISB § CEO/senior executive visit to the ISB (optional) § ISB approach note submission § Diagnostic study § Dialogue with top management and stakeholders § Programme strategy discussions § Content and delivery methods research § Programme design outline E2: Establish learning needs § Academic Director identification § Customisation study § In-depth interviews with top management and stakeholders § In-depth learning needs analysis and consolidation - Organisational needs - Group needs - Individual competency needs § Detailed Programme Design E3: Evolve learning solution § Faculty selection § Curriculum design § Programme delivery design - Modularisation - Methodology - Action Projects § Academic content research and development E4: Ensure learning § Pre-programme study § Programme Delivery § Feedback discussions and consolidation of learnings § Solution design § Project activation E5: Enable Practical application § Project implementation in the organisation § Ongoing guidance and mentoring § Final project review § Assessment Scope In the current growth centric and increasingly globalised economic environment organisations are challenged by lesser time from strategy to action, restless but misaligned talent pools and the ever increasing need to learn at a rapid pace. In such a scenario it is imperative for business leaders to rapidly design global strategies and align the organisation to translate such strategies to action throughout the organisation. Custom designed programmes are particularly relevant for several key transformational objectives of the organisation. Some of them are: · Developing Solutions to Complex Problems – Diagnosing key problems, developing solutions through appropriate frameworks, implementing them in the organisation through action based projects with the ISB’s support to review the success of the projects. · Engaging Employees in Formulating the Company Strategy - Understanding market and industry dynamics, formulating and implementing competitive strategy by engaging people across different functions. · General Management Programme - Designed to provide high potential executives who have excelled in their functional areas, with perspectives, knowledge, and skills to help them become General Managers. · Developing the Leadership Pipeline - Learning to develop leaders across different levels in the organisation based on Ram Charan’s Leadership Pipeline Mode. · Strategic Leadership - Developing leadership among the top management to build business strategies to manage change and transition. · Personal and Organisational Change through Transformational Leadership - Changing mindsets, striving for personal excellence at work, leading and inspiring others to be catalysts for change, and creating an organisation-wide transformation. · Building a Customer Focussed Organisation – Identifying the appropriate customer segment, developing marketing strategies to win them, realigning employee attitudes to be customer focussed, developing processes in the organisation to deliver on the customer promise, and transforming the organisation to establish a customer focussed culture in the organisation. · Building Innovative Organisations - Developing an innovation mind set, making innovation a core competence, identifying and exploiting new opportunities. The thought notes above are an indication of the wide range of interventions that the CEE has developed to enable organisations with the ever increasing need for cutting edge knowledge.
